Questions people ask before booking
The questions we get asked most about price, billing and what is included.
How do packers and movers calculate charges?
Three things: the volume of goods (quoted by home size, from 1RK to 4BHK or an office), the distance, and the level of service — whether you want loading and transport only, full packing, or packing plus unpacking and reassembly. Packing material is part of the quote, not billed separately afterwards.
Do packers and movers charge extra for stairs or upper floors?
Many do. We do not. Floor level and lift access are not priced separately with us — carrying goods up or down stairs is included in the base rate. It is the most common moving-day surprise in this trade, and removing it is deliberate. Tell us the floor when you book so we send enough crew.
Is GST 5% or 18% on packers and movers?
It depends on what you buy. Full-service relocation — packing, loading, transport, unloading and rearranging — attracts 18% GST. Transport-only, where you pack and load yourself and we simply move the goods, attracts 5%. Within a state that 18% splits as 9% CGST plus 9% SGST; between states it is 18% IGST. Transit insurance, if you take it, is 18%.
Do you give a GST bill I can claim from my employer?
Yes. We are GST registered under 36KMOPK2468A1ZT and issue a proper GST invoice on every move. We also provide the bill formats banks and employers accept for relocation reimbursement, which matters if your employer or bank is paying for the move.
Why is the price a range rather than one figure?
Because a precise number we cannot honour is worse than no number at all. Until we see the actual volume of goods and the access at both ends, an exact figure would be a guess. The range on this page is honest about that. After a free survey we fix a single price in writing, and that is what you pay.
Is the cheapest quote usually the best one?
In this trade, rarely. The common pattern is an unusually low quote by phone, then charges added on moving day for stairs, packing material or a bigger vehicle — when your goods are already loaded and you have no leverage. Ask any mover for a written quote that states what is included, and check their GST number on the government portal before you book.
