The Best Time to Shift House in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh
The busiest time to shift in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh is late April to early June, driven almost entirely by the school summer vacation — and it is also the hardest time to get a booking at short notice. The quietest and best-value weeks are January to February and the monsoon months of July to September. If your date can flex, moving outside the peak saves money and gives you more choice of crew and vehicle.
When is the peak moving season?
Late April to early June. Telangana and AP schools close for summer around the fourth week of April and reopen in the second week of June, and families with children move almost entirely inside that window so the children start the new school year from the new home. The last two weeks of May are the single most congested period — if you are moving then, book several weeks ahead.
Is the monsoon a bad time to shift?
It is quieter and cheaper, and perfectly workable with the right packing — goods are wrapped in waterproof sheeting and the loading is timed around the rain. Tradition also treats the monsoon months (Shravana to Ashwina) as less favourable for a house entry, which is part of why demand drops. If your move is not tied to a school year or a festival muhurat, the monsoon is an easy time to book.
Which month is cheapest to shift house?
February is often the best value — after the year-end festival rush and before the summer peak begins. January and the deeper monsoon weeks are similarly quiet. Prices in this trade move with demand, so any week outside the late-April-to-June crunch and the festival season is easier on both cost and availability.
Is there a second busy season later in the year?
Yes — the festive stretch from Dasara through Diwali and into December sees a secondary peak, partly from property possessions handed over around then and partly because December is considered astrologically favourable. It is busier than the monsoon but easier than the May crunch.
